Mexican agencies won’t help US topple drug cartels, senior DEA official says
U.S. operations targeting drug cartel activity in Mexico have fallen flat since the country’s law enforcement and military agencies have been reluctant to collaborate, NPR reported Monday.
A Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) official said the situation is a threat to national health and security because the cartels operate without fear of Mexican law enforcement, according to NPR. Cartels are using illegal labs in Mexico to make methamphetamines and fentanyl, then smuggling the narcotics into the U.S.

Facebook Declares Donald Trump will Stay Banned from the Platform … But Only for Six Months?
As you read this and other articles about Facebook’s Oversight Board upholding Trump’s permanent ban, I want you to keep reminding yourself of one thing. Republicans could have done something about Facebook and its fellow Big Tech cronies when Trump was president AND Republicans led the Senate. Remember that.
Yes, news broke today that the Facebook Oversight Board ruled Donald Trump will STAY permanently banned on Facebook. However, with a “but.” You see, the Facebook Oversight Board ruled that Facebook didn’t follow Facebook’s rules when banning Donald Trump. The Facebook Oversight Board is giving Facebook six months to review Facebook’s response.
It was not appropriate for Facebook to impose the indeterminate and standardless penalty of indefinite suspension. Facebook’s normal penalties include removing the violating content, imposing a time-bound period of suspension, or permanently disabling the page and account.
The Board insists that Facebook review this matter to determine and justify a proportionate response that is consistent with the rules that are applied to other users of its platform. Facebook must complete its review of this matter within six months of the date of this decision.
Seriously. Grow a set of testicles and just say Donald Trump is permanently banned. Because this “ruling” is insulting to Trump’s intelligence, our intelligence, and the intelligence of anyone marginally intelligent.
Facebook Oversight Board Upholds Suspension of Donald Trump’s Account
Facebook’s decision to ban former President Donald Trump was upheld by Facebook’s oversight board on Wednesday.
“Trump’s posts during the Capitol riot severely violated Facebook’s rules and encouraged and legitimized violence,” the board said in a statement.
The two posts in question included Trump, who was president at the time, saying on Jan. 6 that his supporters were “very special.”
The posts “violated Facebook’s rules prohibiting praise or support of people engaged in violence,” the board said in its decision.
Trump spokesman Jason Miller said in a tweet that Trump would be issuing a statement shortly.
The board also found that Facebook inappropriately termed the suspension “indefinite.”
“It is not permissible for Facebook to keep a user off the platform for an undefined period, with no criteria for when or whether the account will be restored,” the board said, adding that Facebook did not follow clear, published procedures that outline either suspending an account for a certain period of time or permanently.
“In applying a vague, standardless penalty and then referring this case to the Board to resolve, Facebook seeks to avoid its responsibilities. The Board declines Facebook’s request and insists that Facebook apply and justify a defined penalty,” the board said.

CA Officials Request Big Tech Censorship
Many continue to argue that Big Tech corporations, as private companies, have a right to censor content on their platforms, but what if that decision were made by the government? As a bombshell Judicial Watch investigation reveals, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook were directly pressured by California state officials to remove election-related content posted by private individuals, including Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
Content including a Judicial Watch video which discussed the watchdog’s successful L.A. County voter roll clean-up case was removed by YouTube at “the behest of government officials,” Fitton noted Friday. “They [California state officials] targeted me because they didn’t want any criticism … so we have a government official working with Big Tech to take down a critic of the government.”
The documents show that CA state officials also made false claims to support the removal of Judicial Watch. “I know what I can and can’t say,” Fitton continued. “I know when I have to be accurate, which is all the time when I’m making public statements.”
Fitton has described these activities as being a “violation of your Constitutional rights under the First Amendment … they knew what they were doing was a problem.”
